Working to Clear Your Criminal Record
After you receive a not guilty verdict or you complete a period of probation, you may feel like your legal problems are over. However, there is still work to be done to repair your reputation and prevent future barriers to employment. At David Mitcham, Attorney at Law, we can help you attempt to put your problems behind you for good.
With 30 years of experience, we help clients in Houston and throughout Harris County with expungement and orders of nondisclosure. Through expungement, also known as expunction, we may be able to help you erase or clear your record. If you have completed a deferred adjudication probation, we can help you keep your case information private through an order of non-disclosure.
Our founding attorney, David Mitcham, has a lengthy background in criminal defense, and he has helped thousands of clients clear their records. He has been named "A Top Lawyer for the People in Houston" by H Texas magazine, and Texas Monthly magazine recognized him by including him the Super Lawyers list. He also has been named an Attorney of the Year by the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association.

Expungement
If available in your case, expungement will essentially remove your criminal record. We can help you seek expungement if you were arrested but never prosecuted, or if charges against you were dropped or dismissed.
Just because you were not convicted of a crime, doesn't mean there isn't some record or your arrest and the criminal charges. It is important to clear your arrest or court records to prevent them from negatively affecting your chances of employment, renting an apartment or getting a loan.
Orders of Non-Disclosure
Through an order of non-disclosure, your record will be sealed from public view. Law enforcement and government agencies will still be able to access your case information, but it will be prohibited from release to employers and individuals.
We can help you apply for a non-disclosure order if you have completed a deferred adjudication probation. We will inform you about eligibility requirements and help you determine if you qualify.
